The Circulation Unit, which is located on the 1/F of the Hong Kong Central Library, provides comprehensive customer services including borrowing or return of library materials, and registration of borrowers, etc.

 For the convenience of library users, self-served workstations are available at the lobby on the 1/F, including library catalogue terminals, self-charging terminals and Express Check-in service, for checking catalogue of library materials and personal information, as well as for reserving, renewing and borrowing library materials. In addition, book drops are available for use on G/F.
