Hong Kong Public Libraries will close at 5p.m. on 17 September 2024 (Chinese Mid- Autumn Festival) and will have special opening hours on 18 September 2024 (The Day Following The Chinese Mid- Autumn Festival).

Introduction

Being designated as a Depository Library of the United Nations (UN) in 1979, the Hong Kong Public Libraries has been building up its UN Depository Collection since then. At present, the Hong Kong Central Library is keeping the depository collections of 9 international organizations, including :

  • Asian Development Bank (ADB)
  • European Union (EU)
  • International Labour Organization (ILO)
  • International Maritime Organization (IMO)
  • United Nations (UN)
  • United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO)
  • World Bank (WB)
  • World Food Programme (WFP)
  • World Trade Organization (WTO)

The above depository collections are mainly kept in the Central Reference Library on the 8/F of the Hong Kong Central Library. Please refer to the links of specific collections for details.
