Static Libraries (Hong Kong & Kowloon)

The following are the special opening hours of public libraries on individual days. For details, please refer to the relevant library notices.

(1)	All libraries (except self-service library stations) will be closed on the following public holidays: New Year's Day, the first three days of the Chinese New Year, Good Friday, Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
(2)	All libraries (except self-service library stations) will be closed at 5:00 p.m. on the following days with the opening time remaining unchanged: New Year's Eve, Chinese New Year's Eve, Mid-Autumn Festival and Christmas Eve.
(2)	When the days mentioned in item (2) above fall on a library closing day, the libraries will be closed. When the days mentioned in item (2) above fall on a Sunday or a public holiday, the Hong Kong Central Library will be closed at 5:00 p.m., while the opening hours of other libraries will be the same as those for Sundays and public holidays respectively.

Hong Kong Cultural Centre	Starting from 2 January 2024 (Tuesday), the services provided by the library station will be suspended for improvement works expected to be completed in late June of 2024. During this period, book drop boxes will be placed at the library station for readers to return library materials, and the loan records will be updated within two working days.
