Special Notice

In view of the latest situation of COVID-19, library facilities including Hong Kong Central Library and the six major libraries (City Hall, Kowloon, Tsuen Wan, Sha Tin, Tuen Mun and Ping Shan Tin Shui Wai Public Library) reopened earlier this month will be temporarily closed starting from March 23 (Monday). Other public libraries and their Students’ Study Room, Mobile Libraries will continue to be temporarily closed until further notice. All book drop services of the Hong Kong Public Libraries and those located at three MTR stations as well as the self-service library stations at Island East Sports Centre Sitting-out Area, the Hong Kong Cultural Centre and Tsuen Nam Road, Tai Wai will also suspend services. During the period, public libraries will continue to provide online services such as e-Books and e-Databases. Overdue fines will not be generated for late return of library materials, due date of reservation pick up will be extended and the maximum number of renewal will be increased accordingly. Pearl River Delta Digital Libraries Network

To enhance cultural collaboration and cultural development in the Greater Pearl River Delta region, the Home Affairs Bureau of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, the Department of Culture of the Guangdong Province and the Cultural Institute of the Macao Special Administrative Region Government signed an Agreement on Cultural Co-operation in August 2003 to establish a foundation for future collaboration. According to the Agreement, establishing connections among libraries of the Pearl River Delta region is one of the major areas of collaboration.

With supports from all the parties, Pearl River Delta Library Newsletter, Pearl River Delta Libraries Internet Reference Enquiry Service and Pearl River Delta Library Catalogue Service were established to enrich service capacity for the libraries users.

    Through Pearl River Delta Library Newsletter, users can access to the latest library news and development information among the region's libraries. Users can also access the region's libraries online news through direct links.

    Through these links, users can choose different library for access of reference enquiry service.
