| Date: | 2026/5/15 (Friday) to 2026/6/12 (Friday) |
| Time: | Library Opening Hours |
| Venue: | Hong Kong Central Library (1/F Exhibition & Activities Area) |
| Organiser: | Shanghai Children’s Library Hong Kong Public Libraries |
The Hong Kong Central Library, in collaboration with the Shanghai Children's Library, will present the exhibition "Shanghai - Hong Kong: Preserving Culture through Children's Reading". By introducing the history of the two libraries and their children's reading services, the exhibition allows readers from both cities to gain a deeper understanding of each other's library development and evolution of children's reading culture.
The exhibition also highlights children's books related to the 24 solar terms, Chinese festivals and traditional Chinese culture through the "Bao Bao Explains the Solar Terms" display panels and a curated selection of books recommended by librarians from both places, with a view to promoting traditional Chinese culture, fostering a sense of shared cultural identity and cultivating a reading culture among children in Shanghai and Hong Kong.
