| Description: | The "Hong Kong Memory" website is a multimedia website that gives free and open access to digitized materials on the historical and cultural heritage of Hong Kong, including text documents, photographs, posters, sound recordings, motion pictures and videos. The website has been made available for public access since December 2012. In order to increase the public awareness on this resourceful website, the Hong Kong Public Libraries will arrange a roving exhibition from 2023 to 2024 to introduce its origin, content structure and to visualize the characteristics of the "Hong Kong Memory" website. |

| Description: | Cantonese opera, also called Guangdong drama, is one of the xiqu genres in Guangdong Province. The history of Cantonese opera in Hong Kong can be dated back to the period between 19th century and early 20th century when a number of troupes, organised by Guangzhou companies, performed in Guangzhou, Hong Kong, and Macau. Since then, Cantonese opera became a major entertainment for Hong Kong people. Notable artists and troupes emerged with many popular repertoires created. The exhibition showcases some selected documents include clay-printed libretto, postbills and special brochures, revealing the development and characteristics of Cantonese opera in Hong Kong. |
