| Description: | To tie in with the Chinese Culture Festival 2025 organised by the Chinese Culture Promotion Office of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, the Hong Kong Public Libraries has specially selected a number of collections on the following three topics: literary master Su Dongpo, renowned Song poetess Li Qingzhao and one of the four great Chinese classics, Dream of the Red Chamber. In appreciating the spectacular performances presented in the Chinese Culture Festival 2025, members of the public can also embark on a journey to explore the treasures of Chinese literature through these collections where they can learn more about the two literary giants and the classic Dream of the Red Chamber to immerse themselves in the enduring charm, beautiful mood and touching sentiments in classical Chinese literature. |

By the Tang dynasty, Chinese writing system had fully matured and the art of calligraphy scaled new heights. As of today, Chinese characters continue to embody the wisdom of the past and demonstrates the charm of Chinese culture. The exhibition will use simple writings, images of artefacts and vivid illustrations to showcase the development and cultural connotations of Chinese characters. |
