Roving Exhibition on Introduction to Winning Entries of the 15th Hong Kong Biennial Awards for Chinese Literature in 2019
Since 1991, Hong Kong Public Libraries has organised bi-annually the "Hong Kong Biennial Awards for Chinese Literature". The Awards aims to commend the outstanding achievements of local writers, encourage continuing writing of quality Chinese literary books and promote publication of Chinese literature by local publishers. To further publicize the winning works of the Awards, Roving Exhibition on Introduction to Winning Entries of the 15th Hong Kong Biennial Awards for Chinese Literature in 2019 are organised.
Five seminars on children and youth literature, poetry, literary criticism, fiction and essay to promote the appreciation and the creation of various literary works.
The city has always been a source of inspiration for writers who want to capture, as well as re-imagine, the cityscape and the urban experience. Writers frequently invoke their memory to construct a sense of place, and narrate their own urban experience. This workshop, comprises of a lecture and a creative writing exercise, will provide an opportunity for participants to explore texts written in different cultural contexts, and to compose their own autobiographical narratives set in the city of Hong Kong.
The Awards for Creative Writing in Chinese has been organized since 1979, aiming to promote reading and encourage creative writing in Chinese. The Award is divided into six categories, including poetry, essay, fiction, literary criticism, children story and children picture category.
