This talk is delivered by a registered social worker who will teach parents how to identify the key sources of parenting stress (including academic performance, use of electronic devices and parent-child communication) and explain how such stress would lead to anxiety, self-blame and conflicts. The speaker will also introduce self-compassion as a cornerstone for stress relief and emotional healing. Through mindful awareness, self-kindness and recognition of our common humanity, alongside effective use of personal time and support networks, parents can stabilise their own emotions before engaging their children with greater calm, transparency and clear boundaries, with a view to fostering a healthy parent-child relationship.
