1/ Story of Hong Kong Streets and Places

Description: The streets pulse with the daily life of people there, while the names of streets and places embrace their stories behind. The document display showcases selected newspaper clippings, books, periodicals, maps and photos, etc., introduces the characteristics of street naming from the early years and the story behind the street nicknames. We can also witness the transformation of local livelihood and trajectory of urban development through different documents.

This document display is also one of the activities in the Chinese Culture Promotion Series. The LCSD has long been promoting Chinese history and culture through organizing an array of programmes and activities to enable the public to learn more about the broad and profound Chinese culture.
