Special Opening Hours and Maintenance of Library System

Hong Kong Public Libraries will have special opening hours on 31 December 2025 (New Year's Eve) and will be closed whole day on 1 January 2026 (The First Day of January). Online services, Self-service Library Station services and the real-time loan record update function at smart book return facilities will also be suspended from 0:30 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. on 1 January 2026 for the maintenance work of the library system.

Description: The gold jewellery industry in Hong Kong has a long history, dating back to the mid-19th century, and entered its heyday after World War II. This talk focuses on the following four aspects:
1. The operating methods and business development of traditional gold shops;
2. The career of goldsmiths;
3. The guild organizations established within the gold jewellery industry for different groups;
4. The transformations and current situation of the gold jewellery industry in Hong Kong.
