The gold jewellery industry in Hong Kong has a long history, dating back to the mid-19th century, and entered its heyday after World War II. This talk focuses on the following four aspects:
1. The operating methods and business development of traditional gold shops;
2. The career of goldsmiths;
3. The guild organizations established within the gold jewellery industry for different groups;
4. The transformations and current situation of the gold jewellery industry in Hong Kong.
