Special Opening Hours and Maintenance of Library System

Hong Kong Public Libraries will have special opening hours on 31 December 2025 (New Year's Eve) and will be closed whole day on 1 January 2026 (The First Day of January). Online services, Self-service Library Station services and the real-time loan record update function at smart book return facilities will also be suspended from 0:30 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. on 1 January 2026 for the maintenance work of the library system.

Remarks: Registered participants should be seated 15 minutes before the workshop commences. On the day of the event, participants are requested to bring either a digital or printed copy of the confirmation email for presenting to the on-site staff for verification during check-in.
STEM Sir will discuss with secondary school students how large-scale removal of bamboo forests, land development, destruction of natural environment, global warming, frequent earthquakes pose a threat to the habitats of giant pandas. STEM Sir will also teach students how to make a "Seismograph." and recommend related books.
 
1.The workshop will be conducted in Cantonese. Admission is free.
2.Target: secondary school students or above.
3.Quota is restricted to 100. Online Registration is based on an individual basis. First-come, first-served.
4.Registered participants should be seated 15 minutes before the workshop commences. Registration becomes invalid upon commencement of the talk.
5.The quota for admission, registration and admission arrangements will be updated from time to time. Please follow the instructions of the venue staff.
6.If Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 8 or above or a Black Rainstorm Warning Signal or "extreme conditions" announced by the Government is in force 3 hours before the talk commences, the talk will be cancelled.
