The Hong Kong Public Libraries of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department has launched a pilot scheme to set up three Self-service Library Stations, one each on Hong Kong Island, in Kowloon and the New Territories. These stations provide round-the-clock services, such as borrowing, return, payment and pickup of reserved library materials.
Presently, many readers choose to pick up reserved library materials at the Self-service Library Stations of the Island East Sports Centre Sitting-out Area and Tsuen Nam Road, Tai Wai. Due to the limited storage space at the Self-service Library Stations, reserved library materials need to be put on shelves on a queuing basis, readers may take a longer time to pick up their reserved library materials. During this period, the status of the reserved item will be displayed as “Transit Hold”. If reader wishes to change the pick-up location to other libraries, please contact the Self-service Library Station Office at 2891 9355 from 9 am to 5 pm, Mondays to Saturdays for the arrangement.
