SUMMARY
Topic (1) : Gerontechnology: Smart Hearing & Contact-less Health Monitoring
Advances in medicine have extended our life expectation to beyond 80 years old. As we age, our hearing and health degenerate and can reduce the quality of life. This talk introduces how AI technology can help to develop affordable smart hearing solutions and easy-to-use contact-less health monitoring solutions. With these enabling technologies, our senior citizens can communicate effortlessly with their families and friends, continue to enjoy the music they love and have their vital health status checked (e.g., blood pressure, heart rates) every time when they look into the cameras of their mobile phones.
Topic (2) : Economic, Psychological, and Social Costs of Occupational Stress in the Big Bay Area
Studies on investigating the social and economic costs of stress is relative rarer in mainland China. It is therefore important to estimate the psychological, social and economic costs of occupational stress in Greater Bay Area (GBA). To put it as our target research district helps to enhance the representativeness of our study in the Chinese context. Exploring the sources of stress that contribute to the cost of occupational stress in GBA will shed light on economic development and performance of industries in GBA impacting millions of employees, which in turn will enhance the competitiveness of China, impacting billions of employees.
