From the establishment of the first public library in Hong Kong in 1962 to the existing over 80 static and mobile libraries over the territory, the Hong Kong Public Libraries (HKPL) has gone through six decades of development, with its collection increased from tens of thousands to tens of millions of items. We have invited librarians of different periods to the talk to share their work experience, recalling the development of public libraries in Hong Kong from the commissioning of the City Hall Public Library to the establishment of the Hong Kong Central Library and witnessing the transformation of public library services in Hong Kong.
