| Description: | Architecture and city development are inextricably intertwined. Each building is the fruit of the painstaking efforts of architects. Architecture evolves with the development of the city and carries the memories of different generations. As Hong Kong is small and densely-populated, quite a number of buildings of high historic value were demolished for redevelopment when our economy took off in the 1970s and 1980s. Fortunately, some historic buildings have undergone rebirth after years of dereliction with the efforts of conservation teams and the innovative design of architects. Such buildings are imbued with freshness while their original look is preserved. In this talk, Mr Anthony Vincent NG Wing-shun, a veteran architect, will share with us how the integration of creativity and technology brings rebirth to old buildings and guide participants to learn about creative thinking from the perspective of architecture. |
