Exhibition on Hong Kong Movie Industry in the 1940s to 1970s
Hong Kong movies began to develop in the early 20th century and experienced many changes. By the 1960s and 1970s, Hong Kong movies became famous internationally. They won many international awards, and the export volume was once second to Hollywood, becoming the second largest movie exporter. The exhibition showcases some selected documents include movie scripts, handbills and film brochures, revealing the development and characteristics of the local movie industry of that period.
The Hong Kong Musicians Series: Harold Han-tseung WEI: Life and Works of the “Weed Poet”
Harold Han-tseung WEI (1906-1993), also known as the “Weed Poet”, is a renowned poet in Hong Kong. He composed more than 300 lyrical works in his life time, including The Eternal Lament, Home Under White Clouds and Parting at River Yi. He made remarkable contribution to the development of modern Chinese music in Hong Kong.
The exhibition showcases the manuscripts of the poet, house programmes, books and photographs, etc. Readers can find out more about the Maestro.
