In recognition of its cultural significance, Xi’an Guyue was designated one of the China’s first national intangible cultural heritage items in 2006, and was inscribed on UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2009. The Music Office will curate a series of ‘Xi’an Guyue’ exhibitions to introduce the development, styles, musical instruments and performance formats of Xi’an Guyue. The exhibition will be roved at various public libraries. |
