The Sui and Tang dynasties marked one of the most glorious periods in Chinese history. This book display, themed “Everyday Life in the Sui-Tang Dynasties”, curates a selection of historical documents, scholarly publications, and literary works on the daily life of that era. From the ornate attire and delicacies of the imperial nobles to the plain clothing and humble meals of common folk; from the magnificent bustle of Chang’an’s street scenes to the hustling boat traffic along the Jiangnan canals—unfolding the essences of Sui and Tang society.
The Chinese Culture Festival (CCF), presented by the Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau and organised by the Chinese Culture Promotion Office under the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, promotes Chinese culture and enhances the public’s national identity and cultural confidence. It also attracts leading artists and arts groups from the Chinese Mainland and around the world for exchanges in Chinese arts and culture. CCF 2026 takes place from June to September, presenting a diverse array of performing arts programmes and extension activities, including selected programmes of the Chinese Opera Festival, film screenings, exhibitions, and community and school activities. The festival offers the public and visitors more opportunities to experience fine traditional Chinese culture, thereby facilitating patriotic education and contributing to its inheritance, transformation and development in Hong Kong.
