Hong Kong Public Libraries and Bring Me A Book Hong Kong will co-organise the REadCONNECT Family Activities on 27 April. A series of fun-packed and interesting activities, including an iconic Reading Tram Ride, Author Meets and Greets and Creative Book Making Workshops where parents joining the activities with their children will learn the strategies and skills of read aloud, how to ask questions, make connections, and visualize what they read and see, and unleash their artistic potentials by creating unique books.

Reading Tram Ride [Explore more] On the tram, storytellers will introduce Mo Willems’ illustration style and pose them some questions to kickstart the tram journey. Mo Willems’ style of using real life photographs (of setting) and own hand-drawn illustrations of the characters will inspire participants to personalise their stories. Through storytelling and real-life observations made during the tram ride, parents and children will be encouraged to put their mobile device down and to observe the buildings, scenery and happenings on the street. |
Author Meets and Greets We invite you to our engaging sessions with famous authors, where they will share their creative process in writing and illustrating their publications. Learn how their observations of daily life and the vibrant settings in Hong Kong have inspired their latest works. Authors will facilitate a brainstorming session, encouraging participants to develop their own unique settings, characters, and plots. The event will also feature interactive games and a Q&A segment, creating a lively environment for creativity. |
