"Library-on-Wheels" School Programme

Library-on-Wheels pilot project main banner

🚐 "Library-on-Wheels" School Programme

The Hong Kong Public Libraries (HKPL) is committed to promoting reading for all and providing diversified library services to the public, including the “Library-on-Wheels” project.  The project features a fleet of specially designed trucks that visit communities and schools to promote theme-based reading, self-checkout service, electronic resources and other online services to members of the public and students.

To foster students’ interest in reading, “Library-on-Wheels” visits schools, bringing lively and engaging reading experiences to students.  In addition to allowing students to board the truck to try out the self-checkout service and electronic resources, a special activity area and a themed reading zone are set up in the extended area adjacent to the truck where students can learn about different cultures, broaden their knowledge, discover the library’s rich collections, and experience the fun of e-reading firsthand through themed reading activities, word games, and cultural handicraft workshops.

📧 HKPL will send invitation emails to schools in batches based on their respective districts.
