Special Opening Hours and Maintenance of Library System

Hong Kong Public Libraries will be closed whole day on 3 April 2026 (Good Friday), and will have special opening hours on 4 April (The day following Good Friday), 6 April  (The day following Ching Ming Festival) and 7 April (The day following Easter Monday). All online services and Self-service Library Station services will also be suspended from 9:00 p.m. on 2 April to 7:00 a.m. on 4 April 2026 in phases for the maintenance work of the library system.

Opening Hours

Opening Hours24-hour Library Services** 
 
To facilitate replenishment and collection of library materials, Self-service Library Station is suspended daily at the following time:
 
Self-service Library Station (Island East Sports Centre Sitting-out Area): 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon.
 
Self-service Library Station (Hong Kong Cultural Centre): 2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
 
Self-service Library Station (Tsuen Nam Road, Tai Wai): 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.
 
In addition, Self-service Library Station is closed monthly for regular inspection at the following time:
 
Self-service Library Station (Island East Sports Centre Sitting-out Area): 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. on the second Wednesday
 
Self-service Library Station (Hong Kong Cultural Centre): 4 p.m. - 6 p.m. on the third Wednesday
 
Self-service Library Station (Tsuen Nam Road, Tai Wai): 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. on the fourth Wednesday
