Latest arrangements on services of Hong Kong Public Libraries

To tie in with the Government’s latest anti-epidemic measures, members of the public must comply with the requirements of the Vaccine Pass and are required to scan the "LeaveHomeSafe" QR code or complete Visitor Information Record Form before admission for necessary contact tracing if a confirmed case is found. Please refer to the Details.

Calculation of overdue fines has been resumed from 5 May for late return of library items. Readers are advised to renew their borrowed items on time or return the overdue items as soon as possible in order not to incur overdue fines.

Application for Students’ Study Room (SSR) Admission Card (Applicable to the examination season from April to May 2022) _Notice (3)


The Leisure and Cultural Services Department will announce the result of the application for SSR admission card on 19 April 2022. Successful applicants shall collect their admission cards in person from the designated public library up to the validity period of the SSR admission cards (i.e. on or before 7 May). Applicants shall produce their identity documents upon collection of the admission cards. Applicants who have submitted their applications by post shall produce their Hong Kong Public Libraries (HKPL) library cards and proof of their candidate status for verification. For those who do not hold a HKPL library card, they shall complete the application for the HKPL library card in person at the public library where the selected SSR is located upon the re-opening of public libraries. Regarding the admission sessions of SSR during examination season, please refer to the relevant library notice in the HKPL’s website.
