Conference Information
The CCDSCR was first initiated as an international cooperative conference in 2000, with its objectives to connect all libraries or information institutions worldwide that hold Chinese documents and to enhance cooperation and resources sharing among these organisations. In the past 24 years, 14 conferences had been held in Beijing, Taipei, Macau, Nanjing, Hong Kong, Lanzhou and Dunhuang, with participants coming from Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, Japan, Singapore, USA, UK and the Netherlands, etc. Starting 2006, the conference was scheduled biennially, with each conference lasting for 2 to 4 days. For each conference, a main theme is set to facilitate the attendants to discuss on the mutual construction and sharing of Chinese resources. Other than topical reports on past projects, the attendants also talk on cooperation of new projects. Since the first conference, there had already been 15 cooperative projects established, including the catalogues of ancient books, rubbings, genealogy, digitization of documents, Chinese name authority, etc.
