Computer Information Centre/Area
To promote computer literacy and facilitate public access to reference information, Computer & Information Centres/Areas have been set up in 32 public libraries. Readers may make use of the networked workstations to conduct research or access to the library's electronic resources. Services and facilities provided include:
- commonly used software such as Microsoft Office suite, with applications for word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation;
- application software including Adobe desktop apps for web authoring, photo editing, drawing and graphic design (available in the Computer & Information Centres only);
- access to the Library Catalogue, e-books, and online databases;
- Internet browsing;
- document printing; and
- document scanning (except the Computer & Information Area in Stanley Public Library and Tai Kok Tsui Public Library).
