Personal data provided by you will be used by the Hong Kong Public Libraries (HKPL) only for the purposes of handling your enquiry.

Your enquiry may also be used for the compilation of statistics on the number and nature of enquiries received by the HKPL, the evaluation of the Libraries’ resources, services and professional skills of library staff. The outcome of the resulting statistics and evaluation will not be in a form that will identify any of your personal data.

The provision of your personal data is voluntary. If you do not provide sufficient information, the Library may not be able to provide services to you.

Personal data in your enquiry, or copies of which, will be disclosed or transferred to library staff relevant and necessary for the purposes as stated in paragraphs 1 and 2 above.

Personal data provided to the Library are normally kept for a period of 1 month upon completion of the enquiry unless otherwise specified.

It is possible that any data provided electronically could be observed by a third party in transit. The HKPL shall not be liable for any loss or damage to you as a result of this.
