Special Opening Hours and Maintenance of Library System

Hong Kong Public Libraries will have special opening hours on 31 December 2025 (New Year's Eve) and will be closed whole day on 1 January 2026 (The First Day of January). Online services, Self-service Library Station services and the real-time loan record update function at smart book return facilities will also be suspended from 0:30 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. on 1 January 2026 for the maintenance work of the library system.

Due to urgent maintenance of the mobile library van, the Mobile Library 1 will suspend its service on 29.9.2025 (Monday). We are sorry for the inconvenience caused. The service point to be affected are as follow:

During the service suspension, members of the public are welcome to borrow and return library materials at other public libraries. They may also renew library materials by telephone at 2698 0002 or 2827 2833, or via the Internet at http://www.hkpl.gov.hk. For enquiries, please call 2414 3157.
