Special Opening Hours and Maintenance of Library System

Hong Kong Public Libraries will have special opening hours on 31 December 2025 (New Year's Eve) and will be closed whole day on 1 January 2026 (The First Day of January). Online services, Self-service Library Station services and the real-time loan record update function at smart book return facilities will also be suspended from 0:30 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. on 1 January 2026 for the maintenance work of the library system.

Lift Improvement Works at Kowloon Public Library (Update)

To enhance library facilities, replacement work on the lift components for Lift No. 1 will be carried out at Kowloon Public Library from 3 November 2025 (Monday) to 7 November 2025 (Friday).

During this work period, service to Lift No. 1 will be suspended. Wheelchair users may access the library via the main entrance on the 2nd Floor (using the ramp next to Pui Ching Road Playground on Man Fuk Road).

Our library staff will make every effort to provide assistance to readers as needed.  We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
