Ceased Subscription to "OECD iLibrary" Online Database Service

The Hong Kong Public Libraries has discontinued its subscription to OECD iLibrary online database since 1 July 2024. Readers can access other e-databases for social sciences-related information through the Hong Kong Public Libraries webpage. Please visit the official website of OECD iLibrary (https://www.oecd-ilibrary.org/) for continuous using the online database service.

Increasing Loan Quota and Extending Loan Period for e-Book Collections
|
With effect from 23 April 2024, the loan and reservation quotas of e-book collections will be increased from 4 or 8 items to 10 items. The loan and renewal periods of the Chinese e-book Collections will also be extended from 7 days to 14 days.

Cessation of “EBSCO Audiobooks” Online e-Audiobook Service and Platform Migration
|
Hong Kong Public Libraries will cease “EBSCO Audiobooks” service on 22 January 2024. Readers can access the audiobooks on the new e-Audiobook platform “Boundless by Baker & Taylor” via Hong Kong Public Libraries webpage on 8 January 2024.

Service Changes of SUEP e-Book
|
Due to service changes, the “SUEP e-Book” collection, which is available through the “HyRead ebook” platform, will be transferred in phases to the “Nowbook Digital Library” e-Book platform during September and October 2023. The provision of SUEP e-books through the “HyRead ebook” platform will cease from 1 November 2023. The borrowing and reading services will cease on the same day, and all reservations will be automatically cancelled.
Readers should pay attention to updates on the “Nowbook Digital Library” e-Book platform and borrow or reserve SUEP e-books through the new platform.
