Setting up OverDrive on Kobo eReaders:

When using OverDrive on Kobo eReader with built-in “OverDrive” feature for the first time, you have to click the built-in “OverDrive” feature under “Settings” of Kobo eReaders, and then sign in to OverDrive with your HKPL account.  You may borrow titles available in the HKPL’s OverDrive Collection.

For details, please click here.

For older models of Kobo eReaders, you have to transfer the borrowed e-books from a computer to your e-reader using the Adobe Digital Editions (ADE) software by following the steps below:

  1. Connect your e-reader to a computer.
  2. Install and authorise ADE on your computer.
  3. Go to https://libbyapp.com/library/hkpl. Sign in with your HKPL account. Click “Go To Shelf”, and then “Read With…” under the icon to download an e-book (in EPUB or PDF format) which you would like to read on your e-reader.
  4. Make sure you are in the “Library” view of ADE.  Your e-reader should appear under “Devices”.  You may have to accept a file transfer prompt on your e-reader in order for it to appear in ADE.
  5. Click and drag the e-book to your e-reader.
