The English e-book platform “eBooks on EBSCOhost” has launched the desktop e-book reader software “Thorium” since 20 May 2026 for offline reading.

Remark: While readers can still read the e-books checked out before the above date via “Adobe Digital Editions”, the items will be returned automatically after the loan period. Afterwards, readers must install the desktop e-book reader software “Thorium” on their desktop computers for offline reading.

eBooks on EBSCOhost

This English e-book collection contains a wide range of categories including leisure reading materials, children's and young adult collection and fiction, covering subjects like business and economics, social sciences and more.  It also provides flexible modes for readers, such as online reading and downloading of e-books to computers or mobile devices.

Circulation Policy：

* The first day refers to the period from the time the item is checked out to around the same time on the following day (e.g. an item checked out at 6:45 pm on 1 February will be returned automatically at around 6:45 pm on 15 February).

Remarks:

1. Readers who wish to download and read the e-books must set up their own My EBSCOhost accounts, following the instruction on the EBSCOhost platform.
2. For downloading of e-books on PCs, the PCs must be equipped with “Thorium” e-book reader.
