Hong Kong Oral History Collection - Hong Kong Film Archive
Introduction
The Hong Kong Film Archive is dedicated to the preservation of Hong Kong’s film heritage. It collects and conserves films and artefacts, provides public access facilities, and conducts a wide variety of activities that promote Hong Kong’s film culture and facilitate research on the history of local cinema.

Research on Hong Kong Films and the Oral History Project
The documentation of film history is a race against time. The Archive has been conducting extensive interviews with veteran and contemporary filmmakers with a view to sketching out the history of Hong Kong cinema. The audio/video-taped records are valuable documentations of first-hand personal stories for film researchers.
Besides, another important area of research for the archive are to search and compile all available primary materials for the publication of the Hong Kong Filmography Series and thematic studies; and for the organization of exhibitions and screening programmes.
