Welcome to Hong Kong Oral History Resources !

Hong Kong Oral History Resources is the web-based extension of the Hong Kong Oral History Collection of the Hong Kong Central Library.

The resources introduced cover a wide range of topics on Hong Kong’s past and present. Some are available for public use in the Hong Kong Oral History Collection & the Hong Kong Public Libraries while some are being held in tertiary institutes and other organizations for research purposes.

We hope that, by getting to know these resources and by listening, viewing or reading some of the oral histories and life stories of our fellow citizens, members of public will have a better appreciation of Hong Kong’s historical and cultural heritage, the unity and diversity of our society and its people, and the role oral history can play in preserving our heritage and in bringing about better understanding among different groups in society.
