'Tea Culture in Hong Kong' Exhibition

Tea, as a popular beverage in Hong Kong, is rich of local culture. With photo images and textual descriptions, this exhibition illustrates the uniqueness of Hong Kong's tea culture. Starting from its Chinese tea origin, it will showcase that tea culture is not only a fusion of east and west and internationally diverse, but also full of Hong Kong characteristics. The themes covered include Cantonese tea house culture, origin of tea restaurants (Cha Chaan Teng), and the evolution of Hong Kong-style milk tea.

The exhibition is also one of the activities in the Chinese Culture Promotion Series. The LCSD has long been promoting Chinese history and culture through organizing an array of programmes and activities to enable the public to learn more about the broad and profound Chinese culture.
