China has made a great leap forward over the past 75 years, from pursuing modernisation to closely connecting with the destiny of the world.

In the course of the past hundred years, the Chinese people have explored a path of modernisation with Chinese characteristics amidst numerous setbacks.  In what ways does this Chinese modernisation differ from the Western one?  What are the characteristics of the Chinese modernisation?  At the same time, China is calling on countries around the world to jointly build a community with a shared destiny, for the purposes of achieving global prosperity and peace and making the world a better place.

This is not only an exploration but also a magnificent practice.  Now, let’s see for ourselves how China has transformed in 75 years from a poor and weak nation into a leader steering the world towards a brighter future!

The talk is also one of the activities in the Chinese Culture Promotion Series. The LCSD has long been promoting Chinese history and culture through organising an array of programmes and activities to enable the public to learn more about the broad and profound Chinese culture.
