The provision of education in Hong Kong during the pre-war period was a concerted effort of the colonial government, missionary bodies and Chinese charitable organisations. Schools varied in size, vision, religious belief, curriculum, medium of instruction and student background. This talk will introduce the unique schooling experience of young people in pre-war Hong Kong.
