Termination of the Referral Service for The University of Hong Kong Libraries Temporary Pass from 17 October 2022

In order to streamline workflows, the University of Hong Kong Libraries reviewed the application for Temporary Pass and decided to terminate the referral service at Hong Kong Central Library of the Hong Kong Public Libraries with effect from 17 October 2022.

The University of Hong Kong Libraries cooperated with the Leisure and Cultural Services Department to launch the Referral Service for the University of Hong Kong (HKU) Libraries Temporary Pass at Hong Kong Central Library since 30 May 2007. It aims to facilitate registered readers of the Hong Kong Public Libraries who have a genuine need to carry out in-depth research to access the resources of the HKU Libraries. Applicant is required to provide proof of research needs. If the requested research materials are not available at the Hong Kong Public Libraries, applicant were issued with a referral letter for application for a Temporary Pass from the HKU Libraries.
