To facilitate people with different needs to make use of library facilities and services and participate in various library activities, the Hong Kong Public Libraries (HKPL) provides the following barrier-free facilities:
- Automatic doors (Photo 1);
- Braille and tactile maps (Photo 2);
- Tactile guide paths (Photo 3);
- Audio and visual signals of the emergency alarm systems (Photo 4);
- Accessible lifts (Photo 5);
- Accessible unisex toilets (Photo 6);
- Lower service counters (Photo 7);
- Induction loop systems (Photo 8);
- Floor standing type self-checkout machines (Photo 9);
- Desktop type self-service kiosks (Photo 10);
- Barrier-free computer facilities (Photo 11); and
- Access Officers (Photo 12).
