The holder of a valid e-account* of Hong Kong Public Libraries (HKPL) is allowed to submit the application for cancellation of the e-account through this online platform.

However, if you are holding a library account associated with library cards issued by HKPL, or with a Smart Identity Card registered for borrowing of library materials, you should approach any branch library in person for the application for cancellation of library account.

*Holders of e-Accounts are only allowed to access or read e-books/e-resources online, but they are not allowed to borrow library materials from libraries.

Please pay attention to the following:

1. This online application for account cancellation is intended for e-Account holders only;
2. The application submitted will be subject to further processing and verification of the information by library staff and the applicant will be notified of the result by email after processing.
3. The electronic copy of identity document uploaded to this platform is for verification and processing of your application, and not intended for permanent keeping. The maximum file size of each document is 3MB and the file should be in jpg or png format.
4. Information provided should be correctly input and verified against the uploaded document copy. Otherwise, the application may be delayed or rejected.
5. All files uploaded to the platform will be deleted after completion of the application procedures. If the application is rejected, all files uploaded will be deleted after rejection of the application.
6. Applicants are strongly advised not to submit the applications on public computers in order to minimize the chance of leakage of personal information. If applicants are not using their own personal computers to submit the applications, please be reminded to completely delete all personal data (including the files of the proof of identity) that was saved on the computers and close all browser windows.
