Nature in the Rhyme
Jointly organized with Kubrick Poetry Society
How often do poets today venture into nature and how often do they venture into Facebook? Nature has always been one of poetry’s great subjects, but the struggle of poets to express their relationship to nature is greater than ever. Nature used to be primarily a site of meditation for poets, but given the rise of pollution and climate change, poets must reassess the role of nature in their work. How important is the natural world in contemporary poetry, and how do poets in the city find innovative ways to express their relationship to nature? Come to this discussion to hear poets share their thoughts on nature in poetry today.
