Strategic use of picture books to empower learning and parent-child relationship

Description: Some parents spend long time with their mobile phones and digital devices rather than spending fun time with their own children. Some parents find it difficult to start the conversation with their children on certain issues, such as healthy eating habit or sex education. Some parents do not know what the favourite toys, games and cartoon characters of their children are. It is vital to build and develop a strong positive parent-child relationship as early as possible. Strategic use of picture books with young children will effectively enhance children's learning and improve parent-child relationship. In this seminar, the following points will be discussed: 1. Principles of selecting appropriate picture books; 2. Effective strategies of using picture books; 3. 3S in parent-child read aloud; 4. Homemade playful picture books.

Description: Hong Kong people encounter many pressures but many do not know how to cope with pressures and the related negative emotions, which endangers their health and inter-personal relationship. This workshop cultivates parents' mindfulness and helps them to reduce pressure, relax themselves, enhance self-awareness and self-kindness, improve life quality and develop positive harmonious parent-child relationship.

Description: How should we protect children to develop safely and healthily in school settings? This is the condition of realizing education ideal. Negligence is the most common topic when the speaker conducts training for schools. There are on average two reports of injury by the schools to the insurance company every day. There are obvious legal risks that all stakeholders have to join hands to minimize them. But how? For example, one of the issues is whether schools should apologize if a tragedy does happen. After the Apology Ordinance became effective in December 2017, how can we make use of this new law to avoid litigation or reduce its adverse impact? This is a very important piece of law that all school stakeholders should know.
