Tin Hau or the Goddess of the Sea is considered as one of the most popular goddesses in Hong Kong. Local people celebrate Tin Hau's birthday to praise the goddess for her protection. Tin Hau’s Birthday falls on the 23rd day of the third lunar month. However, public celebrations extend over a longer period from mid of March to October. Tin Hau Festival is a good starter for studying Hong Kong’s deities.
Talk conducted in Cantonese. Limited seat. Free admission by phone at 2360 1678 from 29.10.2016 (Saturday).
