CREATIVITY ASSOCIATIONS

American Creativity Association
The American Creativity Association is a primary resource for learning and applying creativity, innovation, problem-solving, and ideation theory, tools, and techniques. The ACA website offers a global network of creative professionals in disciplines ranging from business and industry to education and the arts. For information about international creativity organisations go to the ACA homepage and select "International Program Links".

Creative Education Foundation
CEF is a non-profit membership of leaders in the discipline of creativity theory and practice. CEF members advocate and demonstrate the application of deliberate creativity to those who might benefit from unique approaches to solving problems and generating opportunities.

CEF programs include the CEF Corps and the Creative Problem Solving Institute. CEF publishes the Journal of Creative Behavior and a library of titles, most of which can be found in the CIRC collection.

Creativity European Association
CREA is dedicated to the education and promotion of the Creative Problem Solving process in the areas of education, work, and personal development.

 

ACADEMIC INSTITUTIONS

The International Center for Studies in Creativity (Buffalo State College)
The International Center for Studies in Creativity at Buffalo State credentials creativity utilizing a diverse menu of programs that cultivates skills in creative thinking, innovative leadership practices and problem solving techniques.

Torrance Center for Creativity & Talent Development (University of Georgia)
The Torrance Center for Creativity & Talent Development is a service, research, and instructional center concerned with the identification and development of creative potential and with gifted and future studies. Its goals are to investigate, implement, and evaluate techniques for enhancing creative thinking and to facilitate national and international systems that support creative development.

Alden B. Dow Creativity Center (Northwood University)
The mission of the Alden B. Dow Creativity Center is to encourage creativity in individuals and to preserve the works and philosophy of Alden Dow

 

EDUCATION SITES

Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD)
ASCD addresses all aspects of effective teaching and learning—such as professional development, educational leadership, and capacity building.

Educator's Reference Desk
Through The Educator's Reference Desk (http://www.eduref.org) you can access AskERIC's 2,000+ lesson plans, 3,000+ links to online education information, and 200+ question archive responses.

ERIC
ERIC is a national information system funded by the U.S. Department of Education's Institute of Education Sciences to provide access to education literature and resources.
Go to: http://www.ericfacility.net/servlet/com.artesiatech.servlet.login.LoginServlet to search the ERIC database for resources identified by keywords such as creative, creativity, creative thinking, etc.

GEM
A U.S. Department of Education initiative, the Gateway to Educational Materials SM (GEM) expands educators' capability to access Internet-based lesson plans, curriculum units and other educational materials. GEM's goal is to improve the organization and accessibility of the substantial, but uncataloged, collections of materials that are already available on various federal, state, university, non-profit, and commercial Internet sites.

Use the GEM Gateway to search for educational resources on topics such as creativity.
