Introduction

Starting from 29 September 2011, the Hong Kong Public Libraries provides book drop service at three major MTR interchange stations, namely Central, Kowloon Tong and Nam Cheong Stations, on a trial basis to make it more convenient for people to return borrowed library books.

Location of Book Drops

Four book drops are placed within the paid area in each of the above-mentioned MTR interchange stations. Details are as follows:

Notes for Using Book Drops at the MTR Stations

• The Book Drops are available for use during the operating hours of each pilot station. 
   
• The Book Drop is for returning books from the Hong Kong Public Libraries only.  Loan records of readers will be updated within 48 hours after books are returned. 
                    
• Readers may check the updated borrower records through the following 24-hour enquiry services of the Hong Kong Public Libraries:

• Books should be placed inside the Book Drop.  If the Book Drop is full, please try another one in the station.  Do not force books into or leave them outside the Book Drop. 
   
• Overdue books and all non-printed library materials (e.g. audio cassettes, CDs, etc.) must be returned at the service counter of the public libraries.
