Conditions of Use for Internet Express Terminal
- The library provides free computer facilities to the public. All people aged 12 or above are welcome to use the facilities.
- Each session of the Internet Express Terminal lasts for 15 minutes.
- When other users are waiting or when requested by library staff, please leave the terminal for the next user after the finish of your current session.
- Users are strictly prohibited from sending any unsolicited electronic messages (whether of commercial or non-commercial nature) or accessing websites containing materials which are obscene, indecent, violent, disgusted, libellous, threatening or discriminatory in nature or engaging in online games or gambling. They are also not allowed to bring their own computer software for use on the terminal.
- Users are advised to log off all online user accounts and sessions before leaving the terminal for the sake of personal data protection.
- To protect users' privacy, the terminal will automatically log off when a session ends or when it has been inactive for 5 minutes. All browsing records or downloaded files would be cleared at the same time.
- The library is not responsible for any loss or damage that may arise from the use of its computer facilities.
- Copying of copyright work is an act restricted by the Copyright Ordinance. Users shall make sure that there is no infringement of copyright when using the computer facilities in the library for downloading and Internet surfing.
- Users shall not cause any damage to the terminal or any changes to its system settings.
- Users shall not leave their belongings unattended. The library is not responsible for any loss or damage of personal belongings.
- Any irregularities shall be reported to library staff immediately.
- Users who fail to comply with the Libraries Regulation and these Conditions of Use may be required to leave the library immediately.
- Permission to use the computer facilities in the library is at the discretion of the Librarian.
