  3. The completed application forms shall be submitted to the public libraries where their selected Students’ Study Rooms locate and applicants’ HKPL Library Cards shall be produced for verification. School candidates sitting for public examinations (e.g. HKDSE, HKALE, IGCSE, etc.) or professional examinations shall have their completed application forms endorsed with signature or seal by the schools they attend while private candidates shall produce proof of their candidate status upon submission of application.

  4. Seats will be allocated by lot if the applications received exceed the seats available. 95 per cent of the seats will be reserved for applicants sitting for public or professional examinations while the remaining 5 per cent will be allocated among other applicants.

  5. Successful applicants shall collect in person the admission cards at the designated public libraries within the period specified in the result announcement. Production of identity documents is required for the card collection.

  6. Unsuccessful applicants will be issued with stand-by cards, which give them priority in filling any unoccupied seats in a specific session.

  7. The library staff shall have the right to allocate any unoccupied seats 15 minutes after each session commences to stand-by card holders of that particular session on a first come, first served basis.

  8. Users leaving their seats unoccupied for more than 15 minutes will be treated as forfeiting their rights to use the Students’ Study Room in the rest of the session.

  9. Users who fail to comply with the Regulations for the Use of Students' Study Room may be required to leave immediately.
