In support of the Shanghai World Expo of 'Better City, Better Life' in 2010, the Hong Kong Public Libraries organizes the '4•23 World Book Day Creative Competition' on the theme 'Cities Today'. The competition aims to broaden the youth's reading scope and deepen their understanding of different perspectives. Moreover, through the study of the city issues, the competition is also designed to promote extensive reading, to arouse social awareness, and to build up the value of sustainable development among the youth.
