Running from 27 June to 14 July this year, the 7th Hong Kong Literature Festival featured a rich variety of programmes and activities, including a thematic exhibition, symposiums, talks, performances, guided reading, film shows and competitions. Themed 'Scent of Book, Scenes of Hong Kong', this year's festival focused on literature that has its root in the city's cultural traditions, opening up a window for all to understand Hong Kong through its literature and to appreciate Hong Kong's literature through its social context.
Here are some photos from 'The Eighteen Facets of Hong Kong as Written in Literature' Thematic Exhibition and 'Literary Walk and Talk'. The former is a panoramic textual showcase of Hong Kong's eighteen districts, tracing the changes of the cityscape as documented in our literature, whereas the latter takes readers along with writers from the printed world to the wonderful labyrinth of alleyways and back streets that cradle the sensibilities of Hong Kong literature.
