The Seventh Hong Kong Literature Festival will bring this summer a wide range of lively activities including a series of walks tracing local places and scenes depicted in Hong Kong's literature, symposiums, interactive programmes with renowned writers, interpretation of literature with live performances of dance, drama, music and literary film shows.
Jointly presented by the Hong Kong Public Libraries (HKPL) and the Hong Kong Arts Development Council (HKADC) to promote reading and local literature, the festival will run from June 27 to July 14 offering a series of interactive literary activities. The theme of this year's festival is 'Scent of Book, Scenes of Hong Kong' to encourage readers to explore different facets of the city through local literary works.
Three pre-festival competitions: 'Literary Performance Competition for Students', 'Picturesque Words: Photographs Titling Competition' and 'The Charm of Hong Kong Neighbourhood Writing Competition' were also held between January and April with overwhelming response.
